Look, coach, no inside linebackers!
Monday, February 28th, 2005
The New England Patriots have released ol’ warrior Roman Phifer (whom I first caught on TV when I was an army conscript and watched Pac-10 games on satellite TV in one of our rec rooms - he looked very good. Strange that I would end up in Boston watching him play for the Patriots. Of course, nothing is stranger than the Patriots winning one, no, two, no, three Super Bowls) .
Assuming Tedy Bruschi’s career as a football player is over, and assuming that Ted Johnson is about to leave town, the Patriots no longer have an inside linebacker corps (yeah, I know, Larry Izzo and Don Davis are listed as inside linebackers on the depth chart, but seriously). On the other hand, it could just be an honorable move to re-sign Phifer at a lower salary.
We shall see.

Of course parents should learn English
Sunday, February 27th, 2005
Professional de-Americanizers smell blood after a judge in Tennessee has ordered an immigrant from Mexico to learn English. Jerry Gonzalez, described by Fox News as a “civil rights attorney,” claims that the order is unconstitutional. Considering that judges can order people to undergo anger management training, or sensitivity training or what have you, it can hardly be unconstitutional to order a woman to learn the language that will best equip her to be a good mother in America. But the de-Americanizers don’t really care about the constitution, they just want top destroy America.

Will it or won’t it? Malaysia hours away from long-delayed crackdown on illegal aliens
Saturday, February 26th, 2005
With the March 1 deadline for illegal aliens to leave Malaysia without penalty only hours away, Asian media is covering just about every angle of the drama. Two of the countries most affected are Indonesia and the Philippines. Both have tried to persuade Malaysia to postpone or scale back the massdeportation. Indonesia also introduced a wild card by threatening to hire lawyers in Malaysia to sue Malaysian employers who owe Indonesians back pay. At the same time, Indonesia seems to have resigned itself to the inevitability of the crackdown. The Philippines has stepped up efforts to help its citizens take advantage of the Malaysian amnesty and seek re-entrance as legal workers.
The crackdown will be spearheaded by a paramilitary volunteer organization called Rela. Newly introduced rules gives Rela the authority to “enter any premises they [suspect] illegal immigrants [to be] hiding in,” even without a warrant. The Rela is reported to have about 340,000 members. They will be supported by another 150,000 or so police officers, and immigration officers.
On a side note, Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak (or Najib, for short) recently claimed that the country did superstar golfer Vijay Singh a favor by not granting him permanent residence.
America actually conducted similar sweeps in the 1930’s and 1950’s, officially known as Operation Wetback, but nowadays it is pretty much free reign for the estimated 20 million illegal aliens residing in the United States, at enormous cost to American citizens, workers, and tax payers.

Sweden, Larry Summers, and brains
Thursday, February 24th, 2005
Two articles from Sweden of interest to the Crimson Storm over Larry Summers:
1) A Swedish columnist blasts the Swedish government for having decided that, scientifically speaking, there’s no biological difference between the brains of men and women.
In one respect Sweden’s government is unique in the world. It has a definite opinion about a scientific controversy: whether women’s and man’s brains are different, or not. The first time i realised that the government had involved itself in neurobiology, was when gender equality minister [! - ed] Jens Orback in a speech about sexual deviations and living with horses [!!! - ed], affirmed:
- The government considers female and male as social constructions, that means gender patterns are created by upbringing, culture, economical conditions, power structures and political ideology.
Apart from taking a position on this scientific question, the government has deiced to side with the most extreme researchers: gene theoreticians who for ideological reasons state that biology can not have any saying in explaining why male and female behaviour differs.
This reminds me about the Soviet biologist Trofim Lysenko. Lysenko was by Stalin proclaimed a scientific genius and his “creative darwinism” was hailed as a huge step forward for genetic research. Lysenko argued that learned traits could be inherited and that by manipulating the environment one could easily cause fundamental changes in plants and animals. Career hungry politicians loved him. Ideology meant everything, experiment and science nothing.
The real scientists, who protested, were cleaned out (and executed).
Maybe the non-difference is the result of Intelligent Design?
2) Sweden’s by far most influential op-ed page, daily Dagens Nyheter, has published an article in which professor of neurology Germund Hesslow argues that the current pursuit for sameness between the sexes is both undesirable and hopeless.
In sum, Sweden is having a more open and interesting mainstream debate about differences than the sexes than America. Fucking unbelievable. If I’d been a total twit it would’ve made me black out and vomit.

India the economic chump?
Thursday, February 24th, 2005
One of conservative journalist Steve Sailer’s readers argues against the notion of India as the “white-collar” version of China’s “blue-collar” threat to America’s economy:
What then can be said about India’s quite real successes in knowledge work? Essentially, they are a product of failure. The knowledge industries aren’t a failure of course. However, their success is a consequence of the failure of India’s economy to “soak up” its college graduates in a broadly based developing economy. For example, Korea produces any number of brilliant engineers. However, in Korea Samsung, Hyundai, LG, SK and a zillion smaller companies provide lucrative employment opportunities for these folks. In India, you either get a job with Wipro, Infosys, etc. or you starve.

The Texas highway patrol has arrested a Honduran member of the Salvadoran gang MS-13 who is suspected of having “masterminded” a massacre in Honduras in December last year that claimed the lives of 28 people.
Nice work, guys. Only 19,999,999 left to go.

Mitt Romney’s $600 million giveaway
Wednesday, February 23rd, 2005
I can barely muster enough energy to blast governor Mitt Romney’s MORE Jobs fraud (”it pays for itself!”). Basically the governor wants taxpayers to subsidize jobs for highly educated eggheads - people who have already benefited mightily from government pork.
I like Romney, I really do, but this MORE crap annoys me.
As an aside to the many Open Border Lobbyists in our state, I ask this: If we need immigrant workers so much, we couldn’t possibly also need to spend money on creating jobs, could we?

Reality shocks Nebraska school official
Tuesday, February 22nd, 2005
Check out this moron cum superintendent in Nebraska:
Dick Eisenhauer is tired of watching white families take their children out of the schools in his Nebraska district and enroll them in smaller, outlying ones where there are virtually no poor or Hispanic students.
Like many of Nebraska’s school systems, the Lexington district where Eisenhauer is superintendent has seen an influx of Hispanics, largely because of jobs at the meatpacking plants, and an accompanying exodus of white students to public elementary schools just outside town.
And there is nothing Eisenhauer can do about it. Nebraska law allows students to switch schools without giving a reason.
“It bothers you when people come into your town and make comments like `You’ve got lots of Mexican kids,’” Eisenhauer said. “I feel distressed if they would opt out for that reason.”
Hundreds of non-Engllish students pile into a school system and this blowhard can’t understand why Anglo-American parents would send send their kids to school-districts dominated by Anglos instead? Idiot.
Read the whole depressing story about yet another part of America gobbled up but Mexican invaders here.
Speaking of Nebraska: MS-13 says hello.

The blogger I miss the most

Muttawa, an excellent Saudi blog about life in the kingdom. It was harshly critical of the House of Saud, and commented on topics like corruption, reform efforts, terrorism, and Saudi customs and daily life. It’s been down since August 10 last year, and I guess it will never come back to life again. Very sad. A real loss for the blogosphere.
