Tort insanity hits the Port Authority
A jury in New York has found that the New York Port Authority is 68% responsible for the 1993 terror attack against the World Trade Center (which was destroyed by other Muslim activists in 2001). The Muslim activists who actually, you know, bombed the building was found to be only 32% responsible. I guess that means somebody at the Port Authority should do 68% of the prison time that. But, of course, that’s not at all what it means. What it means is that the Port Authority shall have to pay tens of millions of dollars to some lawyer.
We need legal reform and we need it in a bad, bad way.
(Incidentally, I talked to the mother of a Harvard College student earlier tonight, and she said her daughter wants to go to Harvard Business School when she graduates. I felt like telling her that Harvard Law School is a better choice, but, you know…)
