Sick Menino cancels Kenmore Square Holiday Tree lighting
I had been looking forward to Mayor Thomas M. Menino lighting Kenmore Square’s very own Holiday Tree (although I have it on good authority that it really is a Christmas Tree), but he had to cancel due to some illness (OK, listen, this isn’t the Howie Carr Show, I’m not implying the Mayor was drunk, got that?). Anyway, our beautiful tree is now lighting up its little corner of our happening square. It’s kind of pretty, but the tree’s overall effect is somewhat diminished by the terrific tree lights on the Comm. Ave. mall and along the front of the Hotel Commonwealth.
I don’t care. I like our tree.
(No pix yet. I took a couple, but they both stink. Will try again tomorrow).
