Blessed is the nation state
Now that the wretched, multieverything, cobbled together for no particularly good reason, master of no domain whatsoever, strategically located yet totally wasted piece of the world known as Lebanon is getting its ass kicked by Israel because Hizbullah is making a mockery of the principles on which the all-time greatest peace accord ever – the 1648 Peace of Westphalia – was based can we please get a big round of applause for the nation state?
