More than a pretty face: A well-dressed pretty face!
Remember the press conference with Katie Couric during the up-front promos? You know, the one where Ms. Couric got huffy and puffy when some reporter (or whatever people who attend up-front press conferences are called) asked about her fashion strategy at CBS News? How could one ask such a sexist question? Didn’t the poor fool know that Ms. Couric is an Important And Serious Newscaster who should not be demeaned with questions suggesting that apparel is a major part of her act? Well, now that the roll-out is upon us we have been subjected to an onslaught of photos of a carefully fashioned and bejeweled Ms. Couric. Making her the center of television-fashion talk is probably a very good idea, since she is unlikely to ever carry the day as the Important And Serious Newscaster we are supposed to pretend she is.
