Ricky Manning Jr., the allegedly Jew-insulting, Swede-assaulting, no-contest pleading Chicago Bear

I remember reading about Chicago Bears player Ricky Manning Jr. attacking a patron of Middle Eastern descent at a Denny’s in Los Angeles last year. What I didn’t know until I read conservative journalist Steve Sailer’s blog is that the victim of the attack is a Swedish citizen of Iranian descent. NBC reported at the time:

Early on a Sunday morning last April, at a Denny’s in Westwood, near the UCLA campus, a Swedish citizen of Persian descent named Soroush Sabzi was minding his own business when, according to court documents, he found himself the target of insults. Sabzi, a student with an avid interest in computers, now 26, was called a “faggot,” according to a Los Angeles County probation department report unsealed Tuesday. He was also called either a “f—— Jew” or an “ugly f—— Jew,” according to the report. He was told, “You look gay,” and called “geeky,” the report says.

Sabzi tried to signal for help. Instead, he was slapped. A few moments later, he was on the ground and, the probation report says, citing a Los Angeles police department account, he was hit some more and fell into a bathroom at the restaurant.

Ricky Manning Jr., a Chicago Bears cornerback who played college football at UCLA, pleaded no contest Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court to a single count of felony assault in connection with his role in the incident.

Weirdly, I don’t think any Swedish newspaper has written about the assault. Very strange, especially since most of the Swedish correspondents in the U.S. hang out in Los Angeles.

Anyway, Manning insists he wouldn’t have used any anti-Jew remarks because some of the best people his money has bought are Jewish:

“My agent is Jewish, my ex-fiancee is half-Jewish and black, my two lawyers are Jewish, and so it was kind of not funny to me,” Manning told Daily Southtown in October last year.

I guess neither Swedes nor Iranians are in his employ since it doesn’t strike him as “kind of not funny” that he would have assaulted one of those people.

What Manning will find “kind of not funny” is the New Orleans Saints laying waste to the Bears.

What is kind of funny is that Manning thought he was insulting a Jewish homosexual but was actually demeaning a Muslim Swede. I’m telling you, folks, celebrating diversity is a mindless pursuit, recognizing diversity, on the other hand, requires actual knowledge.
