Smurfsheviks embrace the Attila the Hun School of Government

I distinctly remember the Three Smurfsketeers who run the progressive BlueMassGroup website proclaim during last year’s gubernatorial campaign that Democrat candidate Deval Patrick shouldn’t push for spending increases before the state had regained a measure of credibility after the death of a woman in a Big Dig tunnel. That sentiment appears to have gone out the window and the Smurfsheviks now subscribe to the Attila the Hun School of Government:

…the state is not overspending relative to citizens’ ability to pay…

Jim Conley of OnBrookline reported something similar from a town meeting on a looming override vote:

With Brookline’s $14.3 billion valuation, the amount of taxes that could be collected (were it not for Prop 2.5) is around $300 million, but we only collect $130 million. An over-ride would help close this gap, says Robertson.

I see citizens everywhere. They don’t know how much more taxes they ought to be paying government hacks and layabout bums.
