Pictures from Boston University Terriers’ Agganis Arena

The Missus and I went to Agganis Arena on Commonwealth Avenue to watch the Boston University Terriers sweep the ice with the Merrimack Warriors (which they did in convincing fashion in a lopsided, 2-1 blowout victory) last Saturday.

Agganis Arena is the poshest I have ever seen. A Taj Mahal of hockey arenas. Just first class all the way. Except for the cheesy Dance-for-an-iPod contest and the get-busy-in-public exhortations, but I guess people find such garbage acceptable while they frown on edgy, vocal support of the team that’s actually playing a bleeping game. But don’t let my coarse reactionary leanings distort your view of the big picture: The Agganis Arena is a splendid facility with a family-friendly atmosphere and the Terriers are a very good ice hockey team.

The two student sections deserve praise for doing their best to inject energy into the whole affair.
