New York Jets delete Mike Elgin from practice squad
Our favorite rookie from New England Patriots training camp, undersized offensive lineman Mike Elgin, has been cut from New York Jets practice squad (or deleted, as NFL jargon elegantly puts it). As it happens, three of Patriots’ five interior linemen on the 53-man roster are already banged up (center Dan Koppen, and backups Russ Hochstein and Billy Yates) or outright injured (left guard Stephen Neal). Perhaps Patriots will put Elgin on their practice squad? They have seven on the squad right now (one of whom is an offensive lineman, Dan Connolly) and they are allowed to carry eight.
