They should have Governor Deval Patrick come up with job numbers
The Boston Globe reports on a Moody’s study that estimates that Massachusetts will receive about $11 billion from 2/3 of the enormous borrow-and-spend bill that President Barack Obama and the Democratic Congress majority is pushing. The $11 billion would “would save or create 94,560 jobs in Massachusetts.”
That’s weak. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick claims that the Commonwealth’s $1 billion life-sciences bill will create 250,000 jobs. By the governor’s math, the $11 billion should create almost 3 million jobs. The Governor’s claim is of course completely preposterous, but as far as I know his repeated claim has never been challenged.
