Not the best way to present an emergency evacuation plan
Boston’s Chinese/Chinese-American bi-weekly newspaper Sampan reports from a presentation of Boston’s emergency evacuation plan, held by Glen Brenner, “an advisor to Mayor Thomas M. Menino” :
Brenner, who apologized for forgetting to bring the maps and other visuals typically used in the presentation, said the idea for the plan originated during preparation for the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston. Disasters such as Hurricane Katrina prompted officials to extend the plan.
(My emphasis)
But rest assured that “the mayor ‘learned from the lessons’ of Hurricane Katrina.”
(Yeah, this is an unfair post, but come on, it’s a little bit funny.)
